Children up to age 18 are eligible for care at Shriners Hospitals for Children if, after examination, there is a reasonable possibility they can benefit from the specialized services available. Acceptance as a patient is based solely on a child’s medical needs, and care is provided regardless of the families’ ability to pay. Specialized Pediatric Care: Orthopedics: Addressing a wide range of orthopedic issues, including scoliosis, limb discrepancies, clubfoot, hip dysplasia, and juvenile idiopathic arthritis. Burn Care: Providing comprehensive care for children with burn injuries, including acute burn and trauma surgery, reconstructive plastic surgery, and rehabilitation services. Craniofacial Conditions: Treating children with craniofacial conditions, such as facial clefts. Spinal Cord Injury: Offering spinal cord injury rehabilitation programs for children and adolescents. Colorectal and Gastrointestinal Care: Addressing colorectal and gastrointestinal conditions in children. Sports Medicine: Providing sports medicine services for children. Pediatric Surgery: Offering a range of pediatric surgical services. Urology: Diagnosing and treating urologic conditions in children. Wound Care & Skin Disorders: Addressing various skin conditions. Rheumatology: Providing care for children with rheumatic diseases. Pediatric Rehabilitation and Therapy: Offering a range of rehabilitation services, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy.
