East, North and South Gibson school corporations are coming together to develop a work based learning component for high school students beginning with the class of 2029. The new diploma provides the opportunity for students to participate in work based learning as part of their educational experience. Additionally, students who seek the added honors plus seal on the new diploma must complete extended work based learning or earn a credential of value.
This is an opportunity for employers in Gibson county to come alongside schools to support student success while recruiting, developing, and retaining talented potential employees living within their communities. Businesses large and small interested in employing students are encouraged to become part of the process for developing the next generation of Gibson County's workforce and entrepreneurs.
We are holding an informational meeting for prospective business owners and representatives November 14 from 9-10 a.m. at the Vincennes University campus in Fort Branch.
